Our Program

DMA systemThe program is based on the student's goals. From classroom to private lessons, our program is structured on a progressive step-by-step curriculum that provides a well-rounded education of Martial Arts. The knowledge gained through this program compliments all aspects of life. The experience is exciting, challenging and rewarding! Training consists of stretching, conditioning and self - defense techniques second to none. There are traditional empty hand routines and weaponry routines as well as pre- arranged sparring and free-sparring. Students attain well-rounded fitness and improved coordination, technical skills, strength, flexibility and endurance while cultivating the mind and character by developing awareness, confidence, concentration, respect and discipline. Students are taken on a journey learning history, philosophy, language and cultural traditions of the Orient and have the option to learn Lion Dancing, Dragon Dancing, competition skills and performance skills. Specialized training is also available.

 

 

 

Styles

DMA uses a cross section of many styles. Influenced by Northern Wushu-Kung fu and Tae Kwon Do one will learn long range fighting, kicking techniques and routines-classical and contemporary. Southern Wushu-Kung fu (a predecessor to Kenpo and Shuri Ryu Karate) is a very powerful grounded style. Included will be Shaolin 5 Animals style-Tiger, Crane, Dragon, Snake, and Leaopard styles. Tai Chi Chuan is great for developing balance, relaxation, concentration and coordination. Tai Chi releases stress, aids digestion, soothes some forms of arthritis and has been proven to help rehabilitate bone, ligament and muscle injuries. Other styles represented here are Ba Gua Zhang, Preying Mantis, Xing Yi, Eagle Claw and many more. Wushu also has a wide array of Weapons. From Staff to Flying Metor Hammer, over 50 weapons are taught here.

 

Ener-CHI: Tai Chi and Qi Gung Instruction

taichiTai chi combines physical movements with breathing techniques to create exercises which unite under the guidance of the mind. Tai chi is great for developing balance, leg strength, rootedness and patience. Tai chi can be learned by anyone regardless of age, sex or physical condition and is great for starting the day and great for unwinding after a hard stressful day at work and can be done in as little as 5 minutes a day. Our program covers Qi Gung Instruction to help rehabilitate the internal strength. More information

 

 

 

 

Cardio Kickboxing

Get fit and have fun with our new kickboxing class. Participants get a great workout and learn some great fighting skills too!

Adult Classes

You are enthusiastic, invigorated and ready to take on all challenges with poise and unlimited energy. You will feel secure knowing you have the power to defend yourself.

 

 

 

Children's Classes

adult classes Every parent wants his or her child to succeed in life. Discipline, confidence, focus, leadership, self-control, concentration, respect and self esteem are developed through our program. The results are better grades, improved physical agility, mental alertness and self worth. Children learn to cooperate, take responsibility and show respect.. When children feel good about themselves they are well-adjusted, peer pressure is greatly reduced. DMA offers training classes on a twice a week basis for different ages- Kids 6 years old and under have class from 5:30 - 6:15 pm tues and thurs. Children 7- 13 years old have class from 5:30 - 6:30pm Tuesday and Thursday. There is also optional classes on tumbling and weaponry offered on Saturdays. As with all our programs there is also the option for private lessons.
